Turkey has always been at the top of the list of countries around the world in the field of tourism, and according to the report issued by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Turkey ranked fourth in the world for the year 2021 in terms of the number of tourists and surpassed Italy, which hosted 26.3 million tourists, and the United States of America with the number of tourists 22.1 million tourists, it received about 29.9 million tourists.
As for the first three countries on the list, France ranked first with 40 million tourists, followed by Mexico with 31.9 million tourists, and in third place Spain, which received 31.2 million tourists in 2021, and according to the report, Greece was ranked seventh, which hosted 14.7 million tourists, followed by Austria with 12.7 million tourists.
7% of the world's tourists go to Turkey:
The head of the Tourism Working Group of Antalya City Council - Mr. Recep Yavuz - told Derwin News Agency that Turkey attracted about 30 million tourists in 2019 out of 421 million tourists around the world, in addition to that Turkey attracted about 7% of the total tourists in 2021, according to the data contained in the report of the Organization (UNWTO).
